The Maplewood Marlins Swim Team is a part of the Southwest Houston Recreational Swim League (SHRSL), and includes 200 swimmers in six age divisions ranging from age 4 to age 18.
The Southwest Houston Recreational Swim League is a summer swim league composed of community and subdivision swim teams in the Southwest Houston Area including Alief, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Meadows, Mission Bend, Stafford, Houston and Richmond, Texas. The SHRSL was organized to consolidate local swim teams, to standardize swim team rules and to foster competition through the divisions of teams of equal size and strength.
For swimmers age 4-18 years of age, a strong emphasis is placed on strengthening swimming skills, sportsmanship, water safety, and promoting fun through a competitive summer swimming programs.
