Hello Marlins!

I wanted to let everyone know that Maplewood did a great job at Meet of Champions and All Stars!! Here are the All Star results!

Our 6 & under boys (Andrew M, Vince A, Winnie W, Ewan R) free relay got 3rd!

Individually:

Lucy C (6u) got 10th in freestyle!

Cannon T (7/8s) got 3rd in breaststroke & 10th in backstroke!

During the afternoon session, our 11/12 girls (Layla C, Amelia H, Jazz L, Allie B) medley relay got 7th! The 13/14 boys (Aidan N, Cristian L, Juneyoung L, Luke D) medley relay got 6th! The Open boys (Nico K, Alex A, Carl B, Patrick C) freestyle relay got 4th!

Individually:

Jazz L. (11/12) got 13th in the 50 backstroke & 13th in the 50 fly!

Maggie C. (13/14) got 12th in the 100 IM & 6th in the 50 fly!

Juneyoung L. (13/14) got 13th in the 100 IM, 6th in the 50 freestyle, 8th in the 50 backstroke, and 2nd in the 50 fly!

Patrick C. (Opens) got 13th in the 50 free & 14th in the 50 backstroke!

Fantastic job to everyone in both sessions! We had LOTS of time drops!! Y’all did so well and I am very proud!

Thank you all for a WONDERFUL SEASON!! Coaching swim team is always a highlight of my year. I really enjoyed working with Coach Luke, Coach Anna, and Coach Kyle this year. I loved watching each of them grow as coaches this season! Thank you to our Board- Monique, Kristine, Elisabeth, Margaret, Caroline, Kathleen, and Sonia!! You all dedicated so much time to this team and helped the team grow and succeed in many ways. Thank you for your hard work and dedication! Elisabeth, Margaret, and Sonia will be leaving The Board, but I hope each of you know how helpful you have been to the team and to the coaches. It has been lovely working with you and I enjoyed having you on The Board this year!

Let’s give a big shout out to our AMAZING President Monique Close. Monique went above and beyond this year! This was Monique’s first year as President and she did a fantastic job! She was a phenomenal leader for the team and for the coaches. The role of being President for this team is no easy task, so we are very happy that she will be leading the team again as President next year!

I know I said this already but wow our parents are amazing! Thank you for volunteering this season. Everyone had an important role and without you this season wouldn’t have happened. Thank you so much for making sure the meets and season ran smoothly! It took an army, and y’all were wonderful!!

I thoroughly enjoyed coaching this season! The kids are great! Maplewood swim team is so special because we have amazing Marlin families!! Thank you for letting us coach your children this year- I hope they enjoyed it as much as the coaches did! The season is officially over, but I’m sure I will see many of you up at the pool! If not, have a great rest of your summer and GO MARLINS!
