Hello Awesome Maplewood Families!

The board met last night and we came up with some plans for the season.  

Our first practice will be on Wednesday, May 19.   We realize that this is the middle of finals for our big kids, so we will just have practice that week for the 12 and under swimmers.   The following week, we will have practice for all age groups in the afternoon.   

6 & U    4:00-4:30 PM

7/8     4:30-5:15 PM

9/10   5:15-5:45 PM

11/12 5:45-6:15 PM

13 & Up 6:15-7:00 PM 

Our first meet will be June 7.  We will have a meet each Monday through July 5.   There will be a post season competition the week of July 12.   It will at least consist of all stars, we hope!

This season is very much up in the air.   The things we do know:

• we are having a season!  YAY!!
• we will have all meets at home with no opposing team
• we will have fun!
• there won't be temp check stations!!  :-)
• we are hiring a completely new coaching staff.   we hope to have an email out introducing them soon.
• registration opens March 15 for returning families and March 29 for new families

Pretty much everything else is to be determined.   For those who swam with us last year, we had a good time.   It was different.   This year will be better.  Things are improved, we know what we are doing and we are all used to the weird rules and wearing masks.   

We will definitely comply with all local regulations and requirements.  Additionally, the HOA may require us to take extra precautions.   We will make sure that we are in compliance with all things required.   

We want to have a fun season and we want the kids to get to be around their peers.   We have all missed the interaction.   We will communicate everything with you and we will do everything we can to make this as normal a season as possible.   

On that note, it is very helpful if everyone installs the swimtopia app on their phones.   We will be using the app to communicate with you if there are changes to practices or meets.  This will take the place of the old rainedout app we used.
