    Marlins Minute: 05/13/22

    Happy Friday, Marlins Fans!

It is so great to see everyone back at the pool and what a turnout we’ve had!! We have close to 200 swimmers registered for the season! Thank you for your patience as we settled into practice this week. Because it’s been a couple years since we’ve had a “traditional” season, we wanted to share some guidelines/reminders for practice.

    • Our coaches are hard at work evaluating swimmers and conducting practices. Please refrain from approaching them during the practice sessions. If you have questions or feedback, you may email [email protected] or send a message through the “Contact Us” feature on the website.
    • There is no use of any other pool (including the baby pool and splash pad) during practice. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment.
    • Speaking of – if you notice anything with the pool facilities that needs attention, please let us know so we can address the situation. We will have a board member at all of the afternoon practices so look for one of us to report any issues.
    • Decisions regarding changes to individual practice schedules will be made at the end of next week. If you have a question regarding your swimmer’s options, please email the coaches at the email address above. Swimmers must swim with their assigned age group until their request has been approved in writing.
    • If your swimmer will be out for 3 or more days, please email the coaches at the email address above.  Practice absences of 2 days or less do not need to be reported.
    • Thanks for your cooperation in keeping the pool decks clear for the coaches as they establish the routine of practices with the swimmers.
    • Maplewood will be hosting a stroke judge training (clinic) next Saturday, May 21. Please see the website for details.
    • The next Marlins Minute will be sent this weekend and will cover Meet Declaration and Volunteer Sign-Ups.

I’m surely over my “minute” promise so I’ll close with saying WELCOME/WELCOME BACK and GO MARLINS!

    Best,

    Susan Farrell
