    Marlins Minute: All Star Information

    Happy All Stars Eve, Marlins!

Thanks to everyone who was able to make the practices today. We are ready for tomorrow!  Stay hydrated today and get a good night’s rest!  And, don’t forget your All Star swim cap!

Here are some details for tomorrow:

    • Meets will be held at the FBISD Don Cook Natatorium at 16255 Lexington Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479 (same place as Meet of Champions).
    • Swimmers will be set up inside the Natatorium with the coaches on the deck (concrete area surrounding the pool). Chairs for swimmers are not allowed on the deck.
    • Coaches will get swimmers to heating (ready bench) area for their races.
    • Food is not allowed on deck. We know there are many swimmers with back-to-back events. Our recommendation is to packs snacks in their bag so they have them available and can quickly step off the deck area to consume it. We will have a modified “fueling station” in a bag where we are sitting in the stands if anyone needs a small snack. Please note: wet swimmers cannot enter the stands or the lobby.
    • Parents will sit inside the natatorium. We will not have a team tent area outside. There will be a designated place to sit and another one just for viewing. Please do not camp out in the viewing section. It would be fun if we could all try to sit together as we have some fun spirit items we can use to cheer for our team.
    • Only the designated team parent (marked with a wristband issued by the league) can pick up awards. They will not be handed to another parent or to any swimmers. If you would like to fill this role (we need 1 for morning meet and 1 for afternoon meet), please let me know.
    • I’ve attached a copy of both meet heat sheets (with one addendum for morning Event 31) as well as a program/timeline for each meet. In addition – you will find a list of names for each of the 14 (!!) relays we have participating. Let’s get loud and cheer on our kids by name!
    • If you are staying for both meets, please note that the facility must be cleared completely between meets so whatever you bring should be mobile enough to leave and return. 😊

    For 10 & Under meet:

    • Please arrive by 6:45 a.m. so you are ready to enter the Nat when it opens for swimmers at 6:50 a.m. You will go directly to the deck and locate the Maplewood coaches. Warm-ups begin at 7:00 a.m. (see schedule). The meet will begin at 8:00 a.m.

    For 11 & Up meet:

    • Please arrive by 12:40 p.m. and go directly to the deck and locate the Maplewood coaches. Warm-ups begin at 12:50 p.m. (see schedule). The meet will begin at 2:00 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

    Go Marlins,

    Susan
