Happy FREESTYLE & BREASTSTROKE TIMING DAY!

As a reminder, we will be timing swimmers during their regular practice time today & tomorrow to complete our "Intrasquad Meet 1". If you can not be there today and/or tomorrow, Friday is a make up day. In order to qualify for Meet of Champs (June 26) swimmers must have 1 "clean time" (not DQ'd) in each stroke. If you miss timing today/tomorrow you still have FOUR meets to get a clean time, so don't stress.

There is a chance for storms this afternoon  -- aaaaaaahhhhh summer in Houston! This is an issue we keep a close eye on for all practices & meets. Each team/pool has their own rules regarding when to "call" it. In general, our rule at Maplewood is if there is lightening within 5 miles we are out of the pool. Rarely will we call ALL practices off right away. Pay attention to your SwimTopia app for alerts and be patient. We want swimmers in the pool practicing and we want meets moving along swiftly. We can't control the weather. 

If you haven't yet, please sign up for a timer slot for today and/or tomorrow. We need stroke judges to come too! For Friday, we will ask for assistance as needed from those at practice. Sign up HERE for your slot. This does not officially count towards your volunteer shifts (because it's only 30-45 min) but we certainly appreciate you stepping up and will give you a big 'ol high five 🤩
