Hey hey, Marlins!

Congratulations to all our Marlins on a fantastic season! We still have some end of season awards, team pictures, Meet of Champions awards and All Star medals. If you have not picked yours up, please email me to make arrangements to do so. In addition - lost and found items from the season are in the “Swim Team” bin in the pool office.

Thank you for all your support this season. We hit the ground running in early-May and didn’t look up until the very last day of June. Whew! It's taken me a couple weeks to catch my breath for this wrap-up email.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as President this year. If it wasn't evident, I love swim team and had lots of fun! I will be back next season, as will the rest of the board. However, we are looking for some help with Events and Meet Operations and we know our Sponsorship person will be stepping away after next season. If you have interest in any of these areas, please reach out. If you'd like to run against someone's current spot on the board, you are welcome to do that as well!

Coach Maggie is very hopeful that she can be do a study abroad program next summer, so unfortunately we will be on the hunt for a new Head Coach next season. We are so thankful for the years Maggie spent swimming and coaching with the Marlins and we wish her all the best! If you come across someone you think would be a great fit as Head Coach for our team, please send them my way. 

Before I ride off into the hot summer sunset….please help me congratulate our All Stars. On June 30th, the Marlins sent 13 relay teams and 23 individuals in 28 events to the final meet of the season. The placements are among all swimmers advancing to All Stars in SHRSL post season. SHRSL consists of 19 teams and about 2,000 swimmers. Maplewood had a great showing and placed 5th overall. You can find all results attached, along with this seasons Top Times. Great job, Marlins! We are all so proud of you.

SHRSL will have a wrap-up meeting in August sometime, so you may hear from me after that if they share any information I feel is necessary to pass along. Otherwise, be on the lookout for 2024 registration information sometime in February.
